Twelve Lady Blazers will make the trek to state after posting qualifying marks in a 6A track regional at the Olathe District Stadium last Friday.
GEHS took fourth place in the team standings behind Olathe East, South and Olathe Northwest.
Cassidy Androff led the way with a gold medal in the shot put. Fellow juniors Cortlyn Tryon qualified with a third place in the 400 meters and was fourth in the 200 meters. Heather Culbertson took fourth to qualify in the javelin and the 3200 relay of Larissa Weidler, Kelby Wilson, Alyssa Farrens and Miranda Tenove took fourth to qualify.
The seniors had a big day with Abby Buie placing second in the javelin and third in the pole vault. Karli Smith took fourth in the pole vault and Lauren Strick third in the shot put. Abby Lane took fourth in the 300 hurdles and Miranda Tenove will be part of the State 3200 relay.
