Sue Rose Briggs Eyerly is having a party because she thought funerals didn’t allow for enough visiting. Since she passed last June and knew she had terminal cancer for several years, she had plenty of time to prepare.
Sue planned to be late to her funeral since she had been late to everything else in her life, but only decided to be a year late, instead of a few minutes, when she decided to donate her body to the University of Utah Medical School, since they cremate a body after they are used up and mail the ashes back to the family for free. After this decision was made, she asked for a party to be held since she could be in attendance in an itty bitty coffin and hates to miss a good party. Please come to Fronteras Restaurant at 175 N Moonlight Rd, Gardner, Kan, on May 14, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 pm to celebrate her life with her family.
Sue loved to travel, having visited all 50 states, many foreign countries and all seven continents in her lifetime. She was amused by the fact she would be traveling after life as well, and had strongly hinted that she intends to haunt her old haunts. Her resting place will be at the Gardner Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Clarence “Bud” Eyerly. It is a literal resting place since she had their headstone made into a bench for visitors, and realized most of them would need to sit down.
Interment of ashes, not spirit, will be 10:00 am on May 15th, her 82nd birthday. Arrangement by: Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner 913-856-7111. Condolences may be left at
