Using balanced scoring, the Pioneer Ridge eighth grade boys track team brought back a second place finish from the Louisburg Invitational last week.
Paola won the triangular by a 62-55 margin over Pioneer. Louisburg took third with 45 points.
“The kids competed hard and pulled within striking distance with three events to go but got edged out by seven points,” said Coach Jeff Davidson. I was real proud of the effort.”
Gold medal efforts came from A.J. Rodriguez (400-1:00.52) and the medley relay.
Silver medals went to Robert Pfeifer (3200), Lane Gall (100-hurdles), Joel Frase (100 meters), Dayvin Johnson (400 meters), Gall (high jump), Frase (200 meters), and the 400,1600 and 800 relays.
