Cortlyn Tryon’s gold medal 200 meter performance highlighted the Lady Blazers effort at the Olathe Invitational last Friday.
Tryon defeated the defending State champion from Olathe South in the event, took second at 400 meters. She also helped the Blazers to fourth in the 400 meter relay and third place in the 1600 relay.
Silver medals went to Cassidy Androff (shotput), Karli Smith (polevault), and Heather Culbertson (javelin). All three set personal records in their events.

Senior Abbie Lane clocked 52.29 in the 300 hurdles to take third place at the Olathe Invitational last Friday. The Blazers return to the Olathe district activity center Friday for a mid season classic.

Abby Buie had a big day collecting bronze medals in the pole vault and javelin. Abbie Lane took third in the 300 hurdles.
Other medalists were Androff (discus), Larissa Weidler, Haylei Bell and Miranda Tenove in the 1600 relay.
The Lady Blazers return to ODAC Friday for a Mid Season Classic. First events begin at 3:30 p.m.
