The lady Broncos track team will have numbers on their side when the season opens April 1 at Baldwin.
Coach Brad Reinking welcomed 33 girls and seven letterwinners to practice on February 29.
“So far the numbers have been good,” said Reinking. “We have more girls out than ever before and have a good core returning. They have shown a lot of diversity and potential so far in practice.”
Key returners include seniors Jamie Hoffman (long jump), Gabby Patillo (high jump and sprints), and Adrieanne Covey (hurdles).
Junior Chelbie Chaney returns to toss the discus and providing pivotal points will be sophomores Elizabeth Sloan (sprints) and Hailey Lovetinsky (hurdles).
Top newcomers are junior Erika Ingold (distance), sophomore Kami Williams (throws) and freshman Mariann Dominic (jumps) and Madeline Belcher (sprints and shot put).
Reinking has set team goals that include setting a new personal record each meet, place in the top half at league and qualify as many as possible for state.
