The Spring Hill Broncos boys and girls varsity basketball squads closed their seasons with a pair of losses to Paola last weekend.
The boys lost 66-40 to Paola in the final. The Broncos trailed by 25 at halftime and could never recover.
Paola’s Justin Criddle led the way with 18 points in the first quarter alone.
“Our guys were a little shocked early and couldn’t recover,” said Coach Wes Book. Paola is a very good basketball team.
It was the same story for the girls varsity game as Spring Hill closed with a 52-36 loss to Paola.
“The team played hard and executed the game well,” said Coach Clay Frigon. The third quarter was the difference.”
Despite the loss, Spring Hill got 11 points from Meghan Goff and 10 from Jaiden Waddle.
Spring Hill ended the season 12-10.
