Senior Dustin Carstens made the most of his final trip to state bringing back a silver medal from the 6A meet at Hartman arena in Park City over the weekend.
Carstens advanced to the 182 pound final before falling in a 13-4 major decision to Lawrence senior Alan Clothier.
At 106 pounds, GEHS got a third place medal from Drake Taysom. Taysom defeated his Shawnee Mission Northwest opponent 7-0 to win a bronze medal.
Andrew Sprague battled tough and brought back a sixth place finish at 195 pounds. He lost a close 4-3 decision to his Wichita South opponent.
All told, GEHS gathered 52 points to finish 13th in the 32 team 6A field. Garden City won the team title by a 168 ½ – 141 margin over Manhattan.
