After nearly years 97 , Virginia Julia Hurley Terhune Frey died peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 16, 2016 in her home in Spring Hill, Kan.
Virginia was born June 7, 1919 in Coffeyville, Kan.
Virginia graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1937 and married her sweetheart, James Eugene Terhune, in 1938.  James preceded her in death in 1972  They had two daughters, Julie Ann Terhune Kearns (Jeff) of Spring Hill, and Mary Jeanne Terhune Cole (Ron) of Wichita, Kan.
In 1974, Virginia married Robert Dale Frey, a widower with two adult daughters, Jan Lightner (Bob) of Wichita and Nancy Hayes (Charles) of Wasilla, Alaska.  Surviving family members are Virginia’s daughters and sons-in-law as well as grandchildren:  Michael Kearns of Fredonia, Kan, Brandon Kearns (Karynda) of Phoenix, Ariz, Anna Manning (Dale) of Spring Hill, Jason Lightner of Dallas, Texas, Tyler Lightner of Wichita, Kan and Matthew Hayes of Wasilla, Alaska.  She is also survived by four great grandchildren:  Connor, Owen, and Aidan Kearns of Phoenix and Lauren Hayes of Wasillia.  Other surviving family members include many nieces and nephews among many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husbands and beloved grandsons Benjamin Matthew Craig, and Tripp Lightner.
Cremation.  Memorial Service will be 10:00 am Fri, January 22, 2016 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Gardner, Kan.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, before the service, also at the church.  Inurnment will take place in Halstead, Kan at a later date.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 555 W Main St, Gardner, Kan 66030.  Arrangements, Bruce Funeral Home, Spring Hill, Kan  913-592-2244.  Condolences may be left at
