Lorne William Rawlins, 73, of Gardner, Kan. passed away Jan. 9, 2016.
Lorne was born April 10, 1942 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to Lorne Westlake and Ida Selina (Mellen) Rawlins. He grew up in Canada. Lorne moved to Detroit, Mich. where he married Linda Kay Scott on Aug. 16, 1963. Many job transfers led them to Overland Park and retirement in Gardner. Lorne was a Sales Engineer for Eaton Corp. of Marshall, Mich. and Parker Hannifin Corp. of Cleveland, Ohio. He spent time with his grandkids and attended many of their activities. Lorne also enjoyed his dogs, Jo-Jo and Sam. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Linda, in 2011. Lorne is survived by his daughters, Darlene and husband Kevin Callahan, Denton, Texas and Stephanie and husband Heath Cox, Gardner, Kan; sister, Harriet Burmania, Santa Rosa, Calif; brothers, Dean Rawlins, Ava, Mo and Keith Rawlins, Versailles, Ohio; seven grandchildren: William and Zachary Rodgers; Justin, Brittani and Jessica Cox; Cody and Molly Callahan and one great granddaughter, Aubrey Rodgers.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Fri., January 15, 2016 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, Kan (913) 856-7111. Burial follows at Gardner Cemetery. Visitation 7:00 to 8:30 pm Thur., Jan. 14, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Am. Heart Assoc., National Kidney Foundation, Lupus Foundation or Am. Lung Assoc.
