On Sunday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Gardner Police Department in partnership with the Olathe Police Department will sponsor a bowling fundraiser to raise money for the Kansas Special Olympics.
Interested players will need to form a team of four bowlers. Each bowling team will have the privilege of having a Special Olympics athlete as their fifth bowler.
“Even if you are not a great bowler, get a team of friends or family together and come out and play,” Sgt. Steve Benz, event coordinator for Gardner Police Department said. “We are going to have a great time and will be raising money for the Kansas Special Olympics in the process.”
Teams will play three games of nine-pin strike at the Olathe Lanes East Bowling Center, located at 303 N. Lindenwood Dr., Olathe. The team with the highest total combined score will win an award plaque. The cost to participate is $25 per bowler. Special Olympics athletes play for free.
