The Gardner Police Department invites the public to participate in the annual Public Safety Toy and Food Drive on Nov. 21 and Nov. 22. Items will be collected from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gardner Walmart, located at 1725 E. Santa Fe St.
The Gardner Police Department along with public safety employees from other Johnson County agencies host this drive annually, collecting new toys, games, clothing items and food for families in need.
Since 2003, the Public Safety Toy & Food Drive has provided toys, food and assistance to thousands of children, as well as providing assistance to domestic violence shelters and food pantries throughout Johnson County.
Families wishing to receive items from the Toy and Food Drive this holiday season can pick up an application at the Gardner Police Department (440 E. Main St.).  Applications can also be obtained online at:
