Charles Smith Rodman, 79, of Lincoln, Mo. passed away October 29, 2015 at Olathe Hospice House.
Charles was born November 27, 1935 in De Soto, Kan. to George Dewey and Helen Margaret (Taylor) Rodman.
He spent most of his years in Spring Hill where he graduated from high school. Charles married Ellen Elizabeth Wempe on September 4, 1955 in Spring Hill, Kan.
He served in the United States Navy Reserves.   Charles worked at Delco Battery Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, boating and watching baseball and football.   Charles was a member of Local UAW #1021 in Olathe, Kan.   He will be missed by family and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Raymond Rodman, George Rodman, Norma Bradford and John Rodman. He is survived by his wife, Liz of the home; children: Dorothy and husband Ronnie Benedict of Spring Hill, Pam and husband Ben Stuteville of Spring Hill, Debi and husband Larry Franke of Olathe and Cheryl Rodman of Spring Hill; sister, Charlotte Satcher of Olathe; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Fri., Nov. 20, 2015 at Spring Hill Community Center, 613 S. Race St., Spring Hill, Kan. 66083. Memorial contributions may be made to Olathe Medical Center Charitable Foundation for the Hospice House.
