Bobbie Joyce Johnson, 83, of Wellsville, Kan. passed away Oct. 25, 2015.
Bobbie was born May 15, 1932 in Kansas City, Kan to Earl Francis and Stella Merle (Aubuchon) True. She grew up in Merriam, Kan; graduating from Shawnee Mission Rural High School and attending Bob Jones Univ. She married Leon Johnson in Merriam, Kan on Aug. 15, 1953. They lived in Edgerton, Wellsville, Gardner and then moved back to Wellsville. Bobbie worked as a soda jerk, bookkeeper, sales clerk and pharmacy technician for 37 years at Gardner Pharmacy. She loved sports, especially the Royals and KU, enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking and her pets. Bobbie was an active member of Wellsville Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was worship leader. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Leon in 2014. Bobbie is survived by children, Debbi Fouts (Randy) of Wellsville, Douglas Johnson (Tricia) of Overland Park, David Johnson (Patricia) of Wellsville and Drew Johnson (Renee) of Hesston, Kan; brother, Ronald True, Shawnee, Kan; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services are 11:00 am. Mon., Nov. 2, 2015 at Wellsville Baptist Church, 217 Main St., Wellsville, Kan.. Burial follows at Wellsville Cemetery. Visitation 5:00 to 7:00 Sun., Nov. 1, 2015 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, Kan (913) 856-7111. Memorial contributions may be made to Wellsville Baptist Church.
