The city of Gardner will host a workshop to discuss rewriting its land development code. The code clarifies regulations related to housing varieties and types, commercial signs, street trees and the number of parking spaces required for new construction.
City officials will seek public input during the workshop, set for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at city hall.
The event will include several breakout sessions where attendees will be placed in groups to review various discussion papers. Each discussion paper identifies key topics or themes from the Comprehensive Plan and compares how the current regulations align or do not align with the plan.
The public will be asked to provide feedback on the various code options presented in the discussion papers. To review these papers prior to the meeting, visit http://www.gardnerkansas.gov/land_development_code_rewrite.
