Elzie Alvin Willis, 82, passed away October 6, 2015 at Olathe Hospice House.
Elzie was born April 17, 1933 in Hodge, Mo to Vona (Graham) and Theodore Willis.  He grew up in Lexington, Mo.  Elzie served in the U S Army from 1953-55.  Elzie married Marilyn Grace Bogue on April 23, 1966 in Independence, Mo.  He was a painter for Haven Steel in Independence.  They lived in Independence, Kearney and Clinton before moving to Gardner to be closer to their family.  He loved being with his family especially if they were camping and fishing.  Elzie will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a sister and son Timmy Vail.  Elzie is survived by his wife Marilyn, of the home; children Tina and Victor  Key of Gardner, Martin Vail and Beth Burdett of Spring Hill, Julia Reed and Jay of Lake Paradise, Mo, Connie Cummings and Bradley of Gardner and Howard Willis and Kim of Independence, Mo; nine grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and another great grandson on the way.
Graveside Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Friday, October 9, 2015 at Gardner Cemetery.  Arrangements:  Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, Kan, 913-856-7111.  Memorial Contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.  Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com.
