Alice Marie Kurtz, 60, passed away in her home at Gardner, Kan.
Alice was born December 28, 1954 in Washington, Mo to Irene E (Duello) and Emmett H. Rufkahr. She was a graduate of St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon, Mo.
Alice married Charles A. Kurtz on June 28, 1975 in Wellsville, Kan. They lived in Wellsville and Gardner, later moving to Gardner Lake. She retired after 28 years as a Contract Pricing Specialist for KGP Logistics. Alice was an avid reader and enjoyed watching the Royals and Chiefs and girls night out trips with her friends. She participated in Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure. She grew beautiful flowers for everyone to enjoy. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. She looked forward to attending all their events and activities. Her courageous battle with cancer was an inspiration to her family and friends. Her positive spirit left a lasting impression with anyone she ever met. She will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Alice is survived by her husband Charles, “Butch”, of the home; daughter Amy Lee Banka and husband John of Gardner; grandchildren Meghan and Tyler; sisters Carol Miller of Wentzville, Mo and Sandy Mason of Manassas, Va; and brother Ron Rufkahr of Olathe, Kan.
