The Gardner Ice 18-and-under softball team completed its Blue Valley League play with a doubleheader sweep last week.
In game one, Gardner beat the Fuel 13-1 behind an excellent pitching effort of Chelsie Gilner.
“Chelsie pitched a great game, and we hit the ball well,” said Coach Steve Adamson.
In game two, Gardner beat the Heat Explosion 13-3. Sarah Hansen was the winning pitcher.
“Our defense played real well in both games,” said Adamson. “I’m so proud of the team’s accomplishments this season.”
Overall, Gardner ended the season 6-4 in Blue Valley League play and took home third place in two area tournaments.
Playing for the Ice this season were Jaclyn Adamson, Sara Coble, Hannah Flores, Alik Gilman, Sarah Gilner, Sarah Hansen, Val Jordon, Tori Lafferty, Kendra Rogers, Bethany Schultz, Olivia Schultz, and team manager Jessica Gilner.
Assisting Adamson was Dean Gilner.
