Joseph Carl Burdolski, 82, of Gardner, KS, passed away July 26, 2015 at Olathe Medical Center surrounded by his wife and son.
Joe was born May 30, 1933 at the family farm in Purdy, Mo to Joe and Veronica (Vonslevitz) Burdolski. He graduated from Wheaton, Mo High School. He served in the United States Army as a Corporal on the front lines of Korea from 1952 – 1955. Joe married Karen “Katy” Lee Hartegan on June 1, 1957 in KC, Kan. They moved from Shawnee to the current Gardner farm in 1963. He was a 50 year member of Local 1290 Laborers as a brick mason tender. Joe worked for J.E. Dunn for 36 years and was proud to have worked on the Corporate Woods, North Supply and Olathe Medical Center building projects. He then worked for the City of Gardner from 1990 – 1998. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion #19 of Gardner, and the VFW #11234 of Gardner. He loved gardening and raising his black angus cows, which he had until his open heart surgery. Joe was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Scott Richard Burdolski; six sisters: Clara, Helen, Betty, Leona, Amelia and Annie; three brothers: Steve, Leo, and Frank; and brother-in-law John Latshaw. Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years, Katy; son Mark Burdolski and brother Ed Burdolski of Fairview, Mo.
