Just like most of us remember a favorite childhood fairy tale, visitors to the Johnson County Fair make memories that last a lifetime. This year we celebrate those memories with the theme, “Fair E Tails.” Whether it’s the thrill of competing in a livestock event, the excitement of a carnival ride of the taste of a funnel cake, anyone who has attended the Johnson County Fair has a favorite “Fair E Tail.” We welcome everyone to the 2015 Fair and can’t wait to see what new memories you make this year.
Johnson County Government has been a proud supporter of the Johnson County Fair for many years. Each year several of our departments, agencies and offices participate in the Fair with an exhibit booth, and this year is no different.
The theme of Johnson County Government’s booth this year is “Prepare and Protect with JoCo.” So much of what we do in county government is to not only protect the safety and health of our residents and resources, but offer the public tools and information so they can join in our efforts.
Stop by our booth in the Commercial Building Wednesday July 28 through Saturday August 1 and you might find a “Prepare and Protect” activity such as:
• Advice on building your emergency kit from Johnson County Emergency Management and Communications.
• Tips on what NOT to flush down the toilet from Johnson County Wastewater
• Ways you can help protect our natural waterways from Johnson County Stormwater Management
• Free blood pressure checks from Johnson County Department of Health & Environment
• Hands – Only CPR training from Johnson County MED-ACT
• Tips on recycling from Johnson County Department of Health & Environment
Next to our booth will be the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office booth, and nearby you’ll find great information from our Johnson County Noxious Weeds program. One of our partners, Johnson County K-State Research and Extension, will be very involved with several aspects of the Fair.
We will see you at the Fair!
