Mayor Chris Morrow was recently elected to serve as the Northeast Regional Chair of the Kansas Mayors Association (KMA).  KMA is an affiliate of the League of Kansas Municipalities.
Voted in by his peers at the Annual Kansas Mayors Conference, he is now a voting member of the KMA board and will hold the position for one year.
Morrow will help create strategies to promote and improve the proficiency of the association and adopt goals and techniques for the betterment of the Mayoral profession. Holding this position also requires the Mayor’s city to host a regional mayor’s training, which is scheduled to occur in Gardner later this summer.
“It was an honor to be nominated by KMA Past President Marcey Gregory [Mayor of Goddard, Kansas] and selected by my peers to serve in this capacity,” Morrow said. “I value the work KMA does, and I look forward to contributing to the success of its organizational goals.”
Morrow was sworn in as the City of Gardner’s Mayor in 2013. He also serves as an executive committee member and board of directors member of the Southwest Johnson County Economic Development Corporation in addition to serving as a board member (alternate) for the Mid-American Regional Council.
