Gary Eugene Yardley
Gary Eugene Yardley, 67, of Gardner, Kan. passed away June 18, 2015 at Olathe Medical Center.
Gary was born Feb. 12, 1948 at Bryant General Hospital in Lincoln, Neb. to Dorothy Ann (Hubl) and Paul Lawrence Yardley.  He graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Chillicothe, Mo.  Gary served six years in the US Army National Guard enlisting in 1968 and 1974.  He married Linda Jean Bundy on Feb. 15, 1969 in Chillicothe.  They lived in Merriam, Paola, Spring Hill and then Gardner.  His passion was restoring antique furniture. He and his wife owned Yardley General Store, specializing in antiques and Classic Window Designs, in Spring Hill in the 70’s – 90’s.  Gary loved fishing and playing cards.  His favorite past-time in later life was riding his scooter around Gardner (where he was known by everyone as the scooter man), socializing with friends and hanging out with his grandchildren.  He will be missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.  Gary is survived by his wife Linda, of the home; four children: Roseann Schuman of McLouth, Kan, Jennifer Renft of Belleville, Kan, Karri-Ann Cody of Gardner and Michael Yardley of Lansing, Kan; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sisters Pam Hamil of KC Mo., Vickie Griffith of Dawn, Mo. and Patty Anderson of Cameron, Mo and brother Roger Yardley of Eudora, Kan.
Celebration of Life will be 5:00 pm Monday, June 22, 2015 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, Kan, 913-856-7111.  Visitation will be from 4 – 6:00 pm Sunday, June 21, 2015, also at Bruce’s.  Graveside Service will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in Riverview Cemetery, Scandia, Kan, Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Suber Funeral Home, 785-527-2222.  Memorial contributions may be made to Karri Cody / Gary Yardley Fund at Central National Bank.  Condolences may be left at
