The May 11, monthly meeting was called to order by Vice President, Jesse Molenda. Gavin McGill and William Quinn led the club in singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”. There were 11 members present .
Charli McGill gave an inspirational talk about a run she participated in. Cole Davis gave the treasurer’s report of $323.13 and asked for stories for the paper.
Jeanette Davis told members the May edition of Clover Clips was the Fair Edition which includes important dates concerning the fair. The Fair Book can be found at www.jocokansasfair.com and only online fair entries are accepted. Fair entries open June 1 and are due by July 22, no late entries will be accepted. All entries for home environment, fiber arts, clothing construction, fashion revue, and dog show are due on July 1.
Livestock exhibitors will be required to submit a stall request by July 1. Sheep, swine, beef and goat exhibitors will be required to submit tag numbers by July 22.
Projects will be checked in on Monday, July 27, from 6:30-9 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 8-10 a.m.
Jeanette, also, reminded everyone there would be a Countywide Junior Leaders meeting on May 21 at 6:30 at the Extension office. She announced we would be having judging school at our June meeting along with a potluck.
Melissa McGill updated everyone on the community garden.
The club voted on ordering a few extra t-shirts for new members, which passed.
For our program, guest speakers, Zoe Nason, Ethan Eccles and Olivias Rodgers from the Johnson County 4-h Amassadors spoke about camp, junior leadership, and county projects.
Charli McGill made a motion to adjourn the meeting and it was seconded by Baleigh Russell.
The next meeting will be June 8, 7PM at the Fairgrounds.
