An 11-0 6A Regional loss to Shawnee Mission East High School ended the season for Coach Corey Schrack and his Gardner Edgerton High School Blazer varsity baseball team last week.
Shawnee Mission East went on to win the Regional, after defeating GEHS and Blue Valley teams.
“I’m pleased with how the young players competed versus some of the best teams in the state,” said Coach Schrack. “At times, we struggled with timely hitting that could have given us a few more wins.”
Despite the offensive woes, Conner Boyt batted .341 and Jack Mills, .340, leading the Blazer hitting attack.
Schrack also cited improvement from his C and JV teams. The JV posted an 8-9 record including a doubleheader sweep of rival Blue Valley West.
The C-team ended 7-10 with several quality wins in the Eastern Kansas League.
