Nancy Marie Jones, 66, of Olathe, KS passed away May 19, 2015 at Olathe Hospice House.
Nancy was born Feb. 26, 1949 in Wichita, Kan. to Lloyd and Mary (Cox) Walker. She first taught Sunday School when she was 16 at Bridgeport Friends Church with five little kindergarten boys.  She taught Sunday School from then on, in some capacity or another, for the next 40 years, until the Dr. said she could not be around the little ones.  She graduated from Wichita North High School in 1967 attending Distributive Education Classes.  She attended Friends Bible College.  She worked in retail stores and did babysitting daycare during the summers. Nancy married Russell Jones on April 4, 1970 in Wichita, Kan, becoming a city girl transplanted to the farm.  She ran an in-home daycare for 38 years.  She was active in helping establish the library at Olathe Bible Church and again at Fellowship Bible Church.  The Lord first spoke to Russell and Nancy about doing mission trips in 1992.  They had a combined total of 14 trips to Guatemala, as well as trips to England, Belarus, Alaska, Costa Rica and Arkansas.  Nancy loved to sew and make quilts.  She said, “The Lord allowed some of my sewing work to be scattered all over the world, hopefully to be a blessing”.  Nancy and Russell had foster children, caring for a total of nine children over five years.  In 1976 they were in the process of adopting Jennifer Alice who had medical problems when she went to be with the Lord.  In 1977 they adopted Kenneth Aaron Jones, and in 1981 the Lord gave us Janette April by adoption.  She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Nancy is survived by her husband Russell of the home; son Kenneth and wife Karina Jones, Overland Park, Kan; daughter Janette Jones Walker and Mike Emery, Gardner, Kan. and seven grandchildren.
