Dorothy Irene Chism Eddleman, 83, of Paola and Osawatomie, passed away May 13, 2015.
Dorothy was born February 13, 1932 near Dill City in Washita County, Okla. to Herbert and Opal (Lynch) Chism. She earned her BA in Education and her Masters of Library Science from Pittsburg State Univ. Dorothy married Bernard Dale “Bernie” Eddleman on Dec. 31, 1948 in Hotchkiss, Colo. She was an elementary and middle school teacher and librarian for 25 years. Dorothy had a passion for reading. She worked in the Maryville, Paola and Osawatomie School Districts. Dorothy played the organ for church for many years. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bernie in 2005; son Robert Dale Eddleman in 1950; parents and siblings Steve , Coy and Troy Chism.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Jan Evans, Gardner, Kan, Joyce Jones, Gardner, Kan. and Kathy Randels, Wichita, Kan; grandchildren: Chris and Tina Jones, Pittsburg, Kan, Brian and Brenna Evans, Gardner, Kan, Scott Evans, Gardner, Kan, Nancy and Wes Kirk, Wichita, Kan, Josh and Anna Randels, Oklahoma City, Okla; great grandchildren: Skyler Jones, Brandon Evans, Brianna Evans, Logan Jones, Bradley Evans, Jena Kirk, Dakota Randels, Dax Randels, Jackson Kirk, and Taylor Tyner; siblings Inez Turnbough and Wayne Chism.
