Despite an even start, a tough fourth inning sunk the Spring Hill High School Bronco baseball team in Frontier League play last week.
The Eudora High School Cardinals scored six runs in the fourth inning to turn back the Broncos 12-7.
Both teams played to a 3-3 tie until the fourth inning when the Cards erupted for six tallies.
SHHS’ Troy Gardner (0-2) took the loss, working three innings and allowing four hits and two runs. Ivan Hughes saw relief duty for three innings.
Meanwhile, the Bronco offense was led by Hughes and Garrett Kroutch with three hits apiece. Jordan Henning added two hits.
