Using balanced scoring, the lady Blazers took first place honors in the Gardner Edgerton High School Invitational last Friday.
Leading the way was Abby Buie, Heather Culbertson, and Cortlyn Tryon.
Tryon took first in the 400 meters and later took third place in the 200 meters.

Buie placed first in the pole vault and placed second in the javelin competition. Culbertson won the javelin throw.
Faith Jolly took second in the long jump and triple jump. Taylor Carpenter took second in the 100 meters and teamed with Roshea Daniels, Kelsey Leffert, and Cierra Swait for second in the 400 meter relay. Macy Elkinton took second in the shot put.
Earning third place was Cortlyn Tryon in the open 200 meters, Abby Lane in the 300 hurdles, Lauren Strick in the shot put, and Karli Smith in the pole vault.
Lauren Highfill, Haylei Bell, Bella Hinck and Larissa Weidler also claimed bronze medals.
