Gardner Edgerton High School students recently placed third during the LifeSmarts State Varsity Championship sponsored by the Kansas Council for Economic Education. More than 1,200 Kansas students participated in the competition. Seven hours of questions regarding topics such as; consumer rights, personal finance, health and safety, technology, and the environment were targeted. During regional competition the GEHS team, consisting of Sean Grossnickle, Conner Phillips, Nashton Shell and David Shute, advanced to the state round. The GEHS team reached the championship round against Iola High School and Nickerson High School. A great showing considering this was the first time students participated in the competition
