The Spring Hill High School Broncos baseball team dropped a double-header to De Soto last week in tight games with final scores of 5-4 and 7-6.
In the opener, Spring Hill fell behind 3-2 after three innings. The Broncos plated single tallies in the fifth and seventh innings, but fell just short.
Caleb Volkman, 1-1, took the pitching loss. Charles Elam pitched two innings in relief.
The loss failed to overshadow a perfect, 4-4 hitting performance by Jordan Henning. He had two doubles, a stolen base and one RBI.
Garrett Kroutch and Ivan Hughes collected two hits apiece.
It was a similar story in game-two as Spring Hill rallied, but fell short in a 7-6 loss. Spring Hill fell behind 5-1 after five innings, and could not overcome the deficit.
Despite the loss, Hughes collected two doubles and scored a run. Collecting one hit were Henning, Kroutch, Elam, and Austin Storck.
