Kansas City, Mo., is one of the worst run cities in America, according to an in-depth analysis by WalletHub, a personal finance and social networking website.
Using three key metrics, the website’s analysts identified cities that are spending taxpayer dollars most efficiently by tallying the scores of the 65 most-populated U.S. cities. The categories analyzed included education, police and parks and recreation. WalletHub defined the best-run cities overall as those which received the highest returns on their public-spending investments.
Kansas City, Mo., ranked near the bottom at 61st of 65 cities. New York City, Riverside, Calif., Long Beach, Calif., and Fremont, Calif., followed Kansas City, rounding out the bottom.
The best run cities, according to WalletHub, included Lubbock, Texas, at number one; followed by Philadelphia, El Paso, Texas; Dallas, and Pittsburgh, Pa. Of the top 10 ranked cities, seven are in Texas.
