First Sgt. Kenneth R. Knickerbocker, US Army, Retired, age 68 of Gardner, KS, died Friday, March 13, 2015, at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL.
He was born on Sunday, May 19, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of  Maximilian Robert and Sherley Jane (nee Thomas) Knickerbocker.
On Saturday, December 14, 1985, he married Teri Lyn Knickerbocker (nee Hayward) who survives.
He was a member of the Catholic Faith; Masonic Lodge 239, Winter Park, FL; American Legion Post 53, Sanford, FL; Union Armies of the West, Kansas (President); Lincoln’s Generals.
Kenneth was born at Kansas City, Missouri.  He was raised in the Kansas City area and graduated from Rockhurst High School in 1964.  He served with the US Army and retired as a First Sgt,.  After he retired from the Army he lived in Washington DC; Florida and Kansas.  He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Northwood University, MI.  He was a Civil War reenactor; he portrayed Major General and President James A Garfield with the Lincoln’s Generals.
