Gardner Community Theatre will not produce a summer musical this year. President Jim Hurd made the announcement in a Feb. 16 email to members.
“We are disappointed by this situation and are hopeful to produce a Christmas show in 2015,” Hurd wrote.
The community theater organization has produced 10 summer musicals, a handful of Christmas shows and plays, but now the group has immediate need for new board members.
Board members guide show productions, including budgeting, organizing and steering the overall corporate function of Gardner Community Theatre.
Board members typically serve two-year terms and meet one-time per month.
“I know there are many parents and families that enjoy our yearly productions and can positively add to the productions with minimal commitment of time,” Hurd wrote.
