Andrew Sprague’s gold medal in the 220-pound weight division highlighted the Gardner Edgerton High School wrestling effort at the Holton Sadowski Wrestling Tournament last weekend.
The GEHS team finished sixth out of 15 teams in the tournament.
While Sprague’s gold finish lead the squad, Seth Pesek took second in the 195-pound weight division. Other Blazer medalists included Matt Klaurens, who took fourth place in the 120-pound division; Dylan McDonald, 126-pounds; Tyler Norton, 132-pounds; and Dustin Carstons, 170-pounds, each finished in third place in their respective divisions. Jensen McDermott, 113-pounds; and Kyle Cunningham, 145-pounds, each took sixth place.

Other GEHS competitors included Drake Taysom, Jackson Flowers, Daniel Yount, Tristen Martin and Ryan Shirley.
Next action for the Blazer team comes at the Garden City Invitational, Jan 30-31.
