Several Gardner Edgerton High School students earned top rankings at the Kansas State Thespian Conference in Wichita.
More than 250 students from across the state competed in the event on Jan. 10.
“This year’s Conference was a huge success with twice as many students attending this year than last year,” said Jeff Lady, GEHS theater director.  “Each and every student represented our school and district in outstanding manner. Our kids are a class act!”
Only 38 students received Superior Ratings. They included GEHS’ Kevin Medlin and Christian Herndon, who earned the top marks for acting monologues. Cooper McGuire and Ali Haag also earned a Superier Rating for their duet musical theater performance.
In one of the most anticipated competitive divisions, state improve, a GEHS team took second place. Kevin Medlin, McGuire, Noah Powell, Justin Scheck and Herndon are “Room for IMPROVment.”
