Robert Eugene “Bob” Fish, Sr., 91, of Spring Hill, Kan., passed away Jan. 15, 2015 at Sunrise Senior Living, Overland Park, Kan.
Bob was born Dec. 22, 1923 in Centerville, Kan to Eugene Paul and Ida W. (Pitts) Fish.
He served in the US Navy during WWII. Bob married Radine Stocks in Kansas City, KS on Aug. 19, 1944. He worked for Griffin Construction Company, Merriam, KS from 1951-1969. He then started his own construction business, Bob’s Ditching Service, out of Olathe from 1969-1991. Bob and Radine moved to Spring Hill in 2004. Bob was a member of the Lenexa VFW, Spring Hill United Methodist Church, Welcome Wagoneers Square Dance Club and Stilwell Saddle Club. He was an avid horseback rider, organizing many trail rides and he loved riding in parades. Bob enjoyed restoring saddles, buggies and wagons. He will be missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Radine in 2014; brothers William and Warren Fish and sister Clarice LaGore. Robert is survived by sons Robert Jr. and Vickie Fish. of Stilwell, , Donald and Terry Fish off Santa Rosa, Calif., Larry and Denise Fish Lawrence, Kan, David and Tom Fish of Olathe, KS, and Ronald and Sidney Fish of Bucyrus, Kan; brother Alden Fish of Gardner, Kan; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service 11:00 am Monday, January 19, 2015 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster, Spring Hill, 66083 (913) 592-2244. Burial following at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Overland Park, .
