NorthPoint Development announces that Smart Warehousing is expanding its facility at Logistics Park Kansas City (LPKC) by 220,000 square feet. Occupying the balance of Inland Port IV brings Smart Warehousing’s total footprint to nearly 575,000 square feet at LPKC, which is a master-planned distribution and warehouse development in Edgerton.
“We are excited to increase our presence at LPKC,” said Smart Warehousing CEO, Carl Wasinger. “Consolidating our operations and the ability to help solve capacity issues in the supply chain industry are key reasons for our expansion. We are also excited about our relationship with BNSF Railway and how this will allow us to create unique and customized logistics solutions that leverage our technology and presence at LPKC.”
In early 2014, Smart Warehousing signed a long-term lease to occupy a 354,000-plus square-foot distribution center at LPKC. A third party logistics (3PL) company offering superior warehouse management services and technology, Smart Warehousing delivers the use of adaptable operations, dependable systems and flexible warehousing capabilities that allow partner companies ultimate control.
“Since locating its headquarters at LPKC last year, Smart Warehousing has experienced operational efficiencies and incremental growth,” said Patrick Robinson, Vice President at NorthPoint Development. “We are thrilled that this growth has resulted in Smart’s expansion at LPKC.”
“For Smart Warehousing to expand its facility at Logistics Park Kansas City is exciting news for the Edgerton community,” said Edgerton Mayor Donald Roberts. “This expansion further solidifies that Edgerton and LPKC have the right geographic location with direct-rail access needed for third party logistics providers to locate and now expand their operations.”
