Members of the Gardner Edgerton High School wrestling team won nine out of 13 varsity matches in a team win against Lawrence High School last week.
GEHS Coach Jeremy Williams said the win gave the team momentum heading into the Johnson County Classic Tournament, also last week.
“We wrestled well,” Williams said.
The GEHS Blazers brought a 2-1 record into the Lawrence dual. The Blazers won the dual 46-19.
Blazers Drake Taysom, Tyler Norton, Justin Sikes and Edrick Rouse won with pins. Their teammates, Matt Klaurens, Dylan McDonald, and Dustin Castens won in decisions. T.J. Burger and Jensen McDermott had forfeits in their weight classes.
