State officials reported last week that November revenue receipts were $3.1 million more than anticipated.
Corporate income tax receipts continued a growing trend at $1 million more than estimates and are currently 34 percent higher, or $35 million, for fiscal year 2015 than collections for fiscal year 2014 in November.
Withholding taxes, the individual income tax taken out per paycheck, is about 2 percent more than last year, and individual income tax receipts were $3.8 million above expectations.
“This is good news, particularly coupled with the positive unemployment numbers that came out earlier this month,” said Kansas Department of Revenue Secretary Nick Jordan.
