A Fortune 500 company opened in Gardner this summer. DaVita of Gardner opened its doors to its first patients on July 30. The dialysis division of DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. provides a variety of health care services.
DaVita offers dialysis services to patients with chronic kidney failure and end-stage renal disease.
The local dialysis center, located at 328 E. Main Street, is open three days a week from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. It can accommodate 16 in-center patients per shift.
Though it has been open for a few months, the organization will host a ribbon cutting and open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 30. The Gardner area Chamber of Commerce will assist in the festivities, and residents are invited to stop in and meet Jennifer Abernathy, DaVita RN facility administrator; Ashley Chrisman, patient care technician; Deborah Vochatzer, social worker; and center dietician Jessica Triggs. The ribbon cutting will be at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 30 at DaVita.
