There will be a mail-in ballot election in January 2015. The one-question ballot will seek approval to increase the USD 231 Local Option Budget from 30 percent to 33 percent.
School board members unanimously approved the measure, which if approved, will provide greater flexibility in the Gardner Edgerton School District budget.
Mail-in ballots will be due on Jan. 27, 2015.
Under state law, school board members can approve adding up to 30 percent to its budget through local taxes without requiring an election.
