In its regular season finale, the Gardner Edgerton High School Blazer boys varsity basketball team dropped a hard-fought 68-59 decision to Bishop Miege High School at home Feb. 28.
“The game was not our dream ending for our regular season, but credit Miege for playing well,” said Coach Jeff Langrehr. “For whatever reason we did not match-up well.”
Despite the loss, Kyle Hultgren had 23 points and point guard Brett Wright, 16. Devon Toomey added nine points; Jacob Haywood and Josh Lang added four, and Will Cook, three.
“Hultgren has continued to be impressive for us. Our guards have done a good job of getting him the ball,” the coach said.
The squad represented the high school well, according to Langrehr.
“Our 10-10 regular season record was a fairly accurate assessment of the way the year has gone for us versus a daunting schedule,” Langrehr said.
