Jeremy McDonnell will become the principal of Wheatridge Middle School next school year.
McDonnell currently serves as the assistant principal at WMS. He will assume the top job on July 1.
“My time at Wheatridge has been extremely rewarding as I have been a part of an outstanding team of educators who continue to demonstrate a strong commitment to the growth of every student,” McDonnell said in a press release. “I am excited to build upon the tradition of excellence we’ve built at the Ridge.”
Prior to joining the WMS staff in 2010, he taught fourth grade at Gardner Elementary School and coached at the middle and high school levels. He also worked in the Ottawa School District for four years as a teacher and coach.
“His energy, enthusiasm and commitment for helping every student succeed will ensure the continued focus on helping all students meet the challenges of the future,” Gardner Edgerton School District, Bill Gilhaus, said.
