The Gardner Edgerton High School JV wrestlers made the most of their first appearance in the Blue Valley Southwest Junior varsity tournament, Jan. 4.
Nine Blazers posted perfect records in the first annual SW- tourney. Winning division titles were Matt Klaurens at 113 pounds, Christian Norton at 120 pounds, Dylan McDonald at 132 pounds, Brian Morelan at 138 pounds, Dayton Smith at 152 pounds, Zach Norton at 152 pounds, Randy Fruit at 182 pounds, Justin Sikes at 220 pounds, and Hunter Mulford at 285 pounds.
Other Blazer results were David Collins at 113 pounds went 2-1, Josh Cowell at 113 pounds went 0-3, Jastin Lucero at 113 pounds went 1-4, Hunter Skeens at 120 pounds went 1-4, Chase Johnson at 120 pounds went 3-1, Blake Leon at 126 pounds went 2-3, Jake Hills at 132 pounds went 4-1, Jeremy Morton at 132 pounds went 0-5, Keano Summers at 138 pounds went 4-1, Jacob Masters at 138 pounds went 2-3, Kyle Cunningham at 138 pounds went 3-1, Nick Salpas at 160 pounds went 3-1, Tristen Martin at 160 pounds went 0-4, Daniel Yount at 170 pounds went 2-2, Caleb Sutterby at 195 pounds went 2-3, Tristen Cody at 220 pounds went  1-2, Ryan Shirley at 285 pounds went 4-1, and Edrick Rouse at 285 pounds went 2-2.
“I was extremely proud of how our guys wrestled and look to build on this success,” said coach Jerad Gorney.
