Battling til the end, the Pioneer Ridge girls varsity basketball squad dropped a hard fought 28-20 decision at Baldwin last week.
Early on PRMS made a game of it. Pioneer trailed 4-3 after one quarter and just 10-8 at halftime.
Baldwin held a 10-8 3rd quarter advantage and secured the win with an 8-4 4th quarter advantage.
“I thought our defense played well” said coach Jeff Davidson. Jayme Morris and Lauren Highfill played a triangle and two on Baldwin’s two best players and did a great job. I was real proud of our entire defensive effort.”
Despite the loss, Taylor Carpenter had 12 points, three rebounds and four steals.
Brooke Foster added four points and four rebounds.
Mykah Andregg added three points and Korah Calvin had one point.
Now 2-8, Pioneer continued its season at Paola this week.
