Sr., 66, of Gardner, Kan. passed away Nov. 16, 2013 at Olathe Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7 p.m., Nov. 20, 2013 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 555 W Main St, Gardner, KS. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. before the Mass at the church. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 22, 2013, at Hanston Cemetery, Hanston, Kan. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to the ALS Association, Keith Worthington Chapter. Don will lie in state from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 19, 2013 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913)856-7111. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.
Don was born Nov. 24, 1946 in Garden City, Kan. to Merland Shirley and Josephine Lucille (Stalnaker) Hann. He was a graduate of Sterling High School in Sterling, Colo. and attended Barton County Junior College. Don served in the U.S. Air Force.
He lived in Texas before moving to Gardner in 1974. Donald married Mary Ann Casey on May 12, 1991 in Gardner.
He retired as a Master Trooper for Troop A of the Kansas Highway Patrol after 26 years. He was a Catholic and a member of the Gardner VFW. Don was an avid sports fan. He was a man’s man, being a craftman who could make anything. Don loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary Alan Hann.
Don is survived by his wife Mary, of the home; children William Robert “Billy” Hann and Susie, of Olathe, Donnie Lynn Hann, Jr., of Gardner, and Dayna Marie Hann-Richardson and Jabari, of Olathe; stepson Christopher David Hendricks of Gardner; sisters Shirley Jo Stanton and Bobbi Brown, both of Dodge City, Kan.; and five grandchildren, Lexi, William, Elijah, Azaria and Tony.
