LAWRENCE —A total of 288 seniors from nine high schools in southern Johnson County will be recognized for their academic achievements and named Kansas Honor Scholars on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at a 7 p.m. program and reception at Olathe North High School, 600 E. Prairie St., Olathe, KS.
Area students are as follows: Alexandria Bangert, Hannah Beachner, Aleene Bridges, Jacque Buckingham, Abigayle Clabaugh, Abigayle Clabaugh, Taylor Claybon, Hannah Culbertson, Alyson Daniels, Danielle Francis, Alexis Golden, Jared Hobby, Brandon Johnson, Brooklyn Kiosow, Amanda Kuhn, Brett Lindstrom, Savanah McDaniel, Haley McGuire, Jacob McIntire, Makenna Miller, Timothy Mitchell, Darren Nellor, Rachel Newburg,  Kari Porter, Tori Shephard, Julia Southern, Baylee Nutt, Anna Winkler, Brett Wolford, Jordan Martin, Thomas Wyss, all of Gardner, and all seniors at Gardner Edgerton High School.

During the ceremony, each student will receive a Webster’s New College Dictionary and a commemorative certificate.
Michael Branicky, dean of the School of Engineering at the University of Kansas, will speak to the students and their parents and guests.
