The Blazers boys varsity soccer squad made school history Sept. 17th posting its first ever program win against Bishop Miege.
“It was our first program win against Miege and also our second EKL win in school history,” said coach Andy Weber, “I am incredibly proud of the kids.”
After a scoreless 0-0 first half tie, Miege took a 1-0 lead 6-minutes into the second half netting a rebound from a corner kick.
Back came the Blazers with a Tim Mitchell goal three minutes later to post a 1-1 tie.
GEHS went 2-1 on a Dakota Steubers goal. Chance Ragan put GEHS up 3-1 with 17 minutes to play and Luke Fisher gave Gardner a 4-1 win with a late score.
Defensively, Jake McIntire and his crew kept Miege at bay to post the historic win.
