Army Pvt. Chelsea M. Carpenter graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. The coursework included basic military training and advanced individual training.
She is a 2012 graduate of Spring Hill High School. She is the daughter of Marc Carpenter and stepdaughter of Stacy Carpenter of Olathe.
During basic military training, Chelsea received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons qualification, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army doctrine, history, principles and traditions.
She also completed the military police specialist course to acquire skills to provide combat area support, conduct battlefield circulation control, area security, prisoner of war operations, civilian internee operations, and law and order operations.
Army Pvt. Chevy G. Rousselo has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo.
Rousselo is the son of Larry Rousselo, and Jeannie Rousselo of Gardner. He is the grandson of Tina Rousselo, also of Gardner.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship qualification, bayonet combat, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, marches, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions, and core values.
He is a 2012 graduate of Gardner Edgerton High School.
