A costumed dragon encouraged drivers and passersby to head to the polls. Continually spotted throughout town, the anonymous vote-supporter walked and rode through town reminding people that April 2 was an Election Day. Election officials anticipated a countywide voter turnout of approximately 10 percent. However, election commission Brian Newby said turnout would likely be higher in Gardner, where he anticipated handful of highly-contested municipal and school races might drive turnout as high as 30 percent.
