The monthly meeting of the Prairie Star 4-H Club was held on Nov. 12, at the Johnson County Fair Grounds. Recreation before the meeting was led by Shay Stamps. The meeting was called to order by President Dewey Molenda. Pledges were led by Savanna Muellner and Charli McGill. Roll Call was, “What is your favorite candy?” There were 19 members present. There were no new guests.
The minutes from the October meeting were read and stand approved as read. Anthony Deters, club treasure reported the club’s balance. Tucker Davis reported that he had turned in the minutes to The Gardner News for the last meeting.
Marlene Gabriel brought attention to 4-H Days, which will be February 16th, if anyone wanted to sign up. There was also an announcement that the next foods meeting will be at the First Baptist church on November 13th, where the topic will be Holiday Food Gifts.
Kim Loring, Project Leader, talked about Project Warmth and Adopt a Family, and to donate if you were able to. The Committee Report, given by Linda Nellor, was about ordering T-shirts and signing up for them.
The program consisted of Project talks by Nikki Nellor and Kara McCormick, and the presenting of Achievement Awards. There were treats followed after the meeting provided by the Nellors.
The meeting was adjourned by a motion from Jesse Molenda and seconded by Kara McCormick
The next meeting will be on Dec. 10, at 7 p.m., at the fairgrounds.
